Omaha Hi/Low Poker Rules

Omaha Hi/Lo is played just as Omaha is the only difference is that the pot is split between the person with the highest poker hand and also the poerson with the lowest poker hand.

How to Play?

The two players to the left of the dealer butt on place the small and the big blinds. The blinds are bets placed before any of the cards are seen. This makes the game fair in such a way that people cannot fold all the time and still win.

Once the blinds are placed then each player gets dealt four cards that are face down. Betting begins with the player to the left of the person who placed the big blind.

There are then three cards that are dealt face up in the middle of the table called the flop, just like Texas Hold em.

There is another round of betting.

There is then a fourth card placed face up in the middle of the table next to the flop. This card is known as the turn.

Another round of betting takes place.

Then the fifth and final card known as the river is placed face up in the middle of the table with the other four cards. There is then another round of betting.

To win, each player has to take two out of their four cards that were dealt to them and three of the cards that were dealt face up on the table to make the best or worst possible poker hand. It is entirely possible that you will use different cards for each hand and you may even scoop the Lo pot as well.

If you enjoy Hi/Lo games, you might also want to try your hand at 7 Card Stud Hi/Lo.
